🎛️ FAQ: “You Use AI? That’s Not Real Music!”

Q: So, you use AI to make music?
A:
As we express in our process, AI plays only a small supporting role in what we do. We use every tool available to craft art that moves people. We’re not pretending to be a choir or an orchestra — we’re a collective of producers, writers, and DJs driven by music. Authority Matrix fuses human creativity, emotion, and intent with the modern tools of our age. AI is simply the instrument — we are the musicians.

Q: Isn’t that cheating?
A:
Cheating who, exactly?
If a painter uses a brush they didn’t make, are they cheating? If a producer uses a synth, is that cheating? AI is just the next brush, the next synth. There are no rules in music — only feeling and intention. The intention behind the art — the story, the energy, the message — that’s what makes it human.

Q: What about the artists losing jobs to AI?
A:
That’s a valid concern — and part of the conversation we’re here to lead, not ignore. The issue isn’t AI; it’s who owns it.
Authority Matrix supports open, ethical, community-driven AI — tools that empower everyone, not corporations. We believe technology should free creativity, not commodify it. The same way guitars and turntables once democratized music, AI now opens the studio to the world.

Q: Isn’t it hypocritical for Eco-Activists to use AI, given the energy costs?
A:
Great question.
We’re mindful of the footprint. We use low-impact tools, sustainable energy sources where possible, and we offset through direct eco-actions and donations. But more importantly, we use AI responsibly. We’d rather use its power to spread awareness and unity through art than let it be dominated by corporations pushing consumerism.

Q: What’s your actual process when creating music with AI?
A:
The process changes depending on the track, but AI is only a small part of what we do.

It usually starts with the writing — the ideas, the message, the emotion. That part can take days, weeks, or even months. Every lyric and theme comes from lived experience, activism, and the stories we want to tell.

Once the lyrics are ready, we move into sound experimentation. Sometimes we use AI tools to explore genres or tones; other times we build everything from scratch using the Adobe Suite — mainly Audition and Premiere Pro — alongside the personal sound library we’ve built over 14 years of filmmaking.

Then comes the cutting room. Some songs are finished right out of the gate, but most go through heavy editing, cutting, extending, or remixing to bring out their full potential.

Finally, each song is mastered twice — once for the feel, once for the fidelity. Only when all of that’s done, and it hits the heart the way it should, do we call it finished.

AI helps us reach new sounds, but it doesn’t replace the sweat, the soul, or the process that goes into creating something real.

Q: Why defend AI so strongly?
A:
Because it gave us — and countless others — access.
There are millions of unheard voices, neurodivergent minds, disabled artists, and working-class non-creatives who finally have a chance to express what’s inside them. AI doesn’t replace talent; it unlocks it.

As Spyke says:

“I may not be able to sing still, but through this I can finally share the music that’s lived inside me for decades. That’s liberation. That’s art. No therapy could match the release, clarity, and healing it brings.”

Q: So, who makes your music — you or the machine?
A:
We do. Every lyric, concept, rhythm, and emotion comes from us. AI doesn’t feel pain, joy, rebellion, or love — we do. It’s just the paintbrush that lets us show it to the world.

Q: Final word to the haters?
A:
We get it — change is scary.
But Authority Matrix has never been about playing it safe. We’re here to prove that art, empathy, and innovation can coexist — that anyone can create something powerful, meaningful, and real.
If AI can help a person express love instead of hate, hope instead of silence — then that’s a revolution worth having.
